Sidney A. "Sid" Valentine was born September 2, 1879 near Soso, Jones County, Mississippi. He is the son of George A. Valentine and Alice L. Welch. Sidney died November 27, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He is buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Jones County, Mississippi

Aubertha Theresa "Bertha" Quimby was born April 6, 1884 in Clarke County, Mississippi. She is the daughter of Green Berry Quimby and Lydia Ann Brunetta Clegg. Bertha died November 13, 1936 in Jones County, Mississippi. She is buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Jones County, Mississippi.

Mrs. S. A. Valentine Succumbs After Long Illness; Funeral Service on Saturday Evening
Mrs. S. A. Valentine, 52, wife of Sid Valentine, rural mail carrier, and resident of 1040 Second avenue, died at the family residence at 4:00 o’clock Friday afternoon following an illness which confined her to her bed for the past six months.
Funeral services were held at the home at 3:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. J. F. Campbell, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Hickory Grove cemetery.
Born in Clarke County and reared in Jones, Mrs. Valentine had been a resident of Laurel for the past 20 years.
In addition to her membership in the First Methodist church and the Methodist Women’s Auxiliary, she was vice president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Rural Letter Carriers of Mississippi.
She leaves, besides her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Hinton, Laurel; two sons, Noel Valentine and Jack Valentine, both of Laurel; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Quimby; and four brothers and sisters, J. O. Quimby, Mobile; Mrs. J. A. Hull, Mrs. B. L. Grafton, and F. C. Quimby, all of Laurel.

Sidney A. Valentine, 68, Dies in Cape Girardeau
Sidney A. Valentine, 68 years old, a retired rural route carrier, died at 11:05 o’clock Thursday night at the family home, 805 North Boulevard, Mr. Valentine has been in failing health for the past 11 years following a first stroke of paralysis. He had suffered several since.
The body was sent today to the Charles A. Thompson Funeral Home at Laurel, Miss., from the Haman Funeral Home, where it will remain until services at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church. Interment will be in a cemetery there.
Mr. Valentine is survived by his wife Mrs. Della Valentine; two sons, Noel Valentine of Laurel, and Jack Valentine of Hattiesburg, Miss., a daughter, Mrs. Dee Hinton of Laurel; three step-children, Norman Day of Memphis, Tenn., Lynn Day and Mrs. R. C. Garner, both of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Berry Valentine of Soso, Miss., five grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.
He was born Sept. 2, 1879, near Soso. He was first married to Bertha Quimbley, who passed away November 13, 1937. To this union three children were born. He was then married to Mrs. Della Day, who survives. Mr. Valentine for 30 years was rural mail carrier at Laurel. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1940 from Mississippi. He was a member of the Masonic lodge.
