William Bynum

 William Bynum b. 1795 GA married Mary Dossett b. 1805 SC.  They were baptized July 1842 at Providence Church Perry County, Mississippi by Rev. Alexander McKenzie.

They had the following children:

1.      Ancybelle Bynum, born January 29, 1828.  It is believed she married a cousin James.

 

2.      William A Bynum, born March 30, 1838.  He married Sophronia Tisdale and had the following children:

a.       Leon b. 1872

b.      Aden b. 1874

c.       Annie b.?

d.      Washington b.1876

e.       Eugene b. 1879

f.       Ina b. 1880

g.      Bessie b. 1889

 

3.      John Hall Bynum b. Feb. 2, 1841 in Lux, MS.  He married Nancy Anne Carter b. 07 April 1852, in Rawls Springs, Ms on Feb. 28, 1872.  She was the daughter of Judge Daniel Carter from Perry County. Nancy Anne was a charter member in the First Baptist Church in Ellisville. They had the following children:

a.       Edna M. b. Oct. 26, 1874   d. Feb. 09, 1893 Buried in Bynum Cem.  Edna died at age 18, and never married. She was an organist at the First Baptist Church in Ellisville.

b.      Thomas William b. 09 Oct. 1877 d. March  ?, 1964.  His ashes were scattered into Tallaha creek.

c.       Fred Lyle b. Aug. 08, 1880 d. Feb. 14, 1966.  He married Juaniece Perkins of Sanderville, a great, great granddaughter of Amos Deason.  They married in Colorado Springs in 1927.  They are both buried in the Bynum Cem.

d.      Leslie W. b. Nov. 1882 d. Jul 19, 1883.  He is buried in Bynum Cemetery and is believed to be the first one buried there.

e.       Ray C.  b. Oct. 1884 d. Jan 08, 1885.  Buried Bynum Cem.

f.        Bertie Mae b. Apr. 1887 d. Abt. 1932.  She married Hirum S. Smith in Pearl River County on Feb. 5, 1910.  They had no children of their own, but adopted Stanley as a days old infant after his mother and three of his siblings died in a measles outbreak that struck Jones County in 1917.
